The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) Career Center will host its Fall 2016 Career Expo on Wednesday, Sep. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.
More than 100 employers will be on hand from companies such as Microsoft, Eli Lilly, the Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Department of Revenue and Amazon.com.
Kacy Lowe, interim director of the Career Center, said there are many surprises in store for attendees, including a Linkedin booth.
“Students can look forward to an expo that provides them with the opportunities to engage industry professionals for internship and career placements – ALL MAJORS. They will also have the opportunity to enhance their digital profiles with a professional headshot that will be provided. Door prizes and giveaways will be given throughout the day – they don’t want to miss it,” Lowe said.
The expo is open to all FAMU students and alumni, as well as the general public. Professional attire and resumes are required to attend the expo.
The Career Center will conduct weekly workshops prior to the Expo and throughout the fall semester on resume writing, interviewing skills, and dressing for success.
