Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) student Brandon Johnson was selected to attend the Milstein Family Foundation Campus Allies Mission to Israel in conjunction with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
The Milstein Family Foundation Campus Allies Mission, which is open only to those who have not been to Israel and are not eligible for Birthright Israel, is designed for political activists and student leaders who are non-Jewish. Each year, AIPAC sponsors three educational trips to Israel for top American college activists.
Johnson is a third-year political science student from Gainesville, Florida. He is an active member of the Student Government Association where he currently serves as senate president of the 46th Student Senate.
“My matriculation in SGA and at FAMU prepared me for this incredible opportunity,” Johnson said. “I could not wait to attend and represent my HBCU in my efforts to help expand FAMU’s global brand.… I also made some connections in the policy arena due to my minor being in international relations.”
The May 28-June 9 trip included visits to some of Israel’s most important historical and holy places, as well as top-level briefings and site visits.
