Today, the Florida Board of Governors (BOG) unanimously voted to confirm Larry Robinson, Ph.D., as the 12th permanent president of Florida A&M University (FAMU).
On November 30, 2017, the FAMU Board of Trustees unanimously selected Dr. Robinson to serve as the 12th president of the university.

“It is an honor and a privilege to lead this great institution,” said Robinson, while sharing his vision and priorities with the BOG. “My commitment as the 12th president is to work wholeheartedly to make FAMU an institution that is an even stronger ‘First Choice’ for students, a priority destination for agencies that invest in research, a model of meaningful engagement, and a favored institution committed to transparency and accountability. ”
Dr. Robinson outlined the following areas of focus as president of FAMU:
· Increasing student success, graduation rates, and improving licensure pass rates
· Enhancing the student experience
· Increasing our recruitment efforts of transfer students
· Enhancing and improving our housing facilities
· Increasing accountability
