Alumna, author, and designer Tracy Nicole is certainly making power moves. A breast cancer survivor, Tracy has used her innovative fashion brand to uplift women around the world by developing clothing for diverse body types. Her innovative fashion line was birthed after personally facing the difficulty of finding comfortably fitting clothing to wear after she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had body-altering surgery several years ago. This experience served as an inspiration for a clothing line that offers fabrics with a stretch that makes them forgiving and easier to fit various figures.
As a result of her efforts and creative designs, she was crowned Belk’s winner of its Southern Designer Showcase and serves as a Model of Courage for Ford Motor Company’s Warriors of Pink Campaign. “My desire is for my clothing to appeal to women who have a strong sense of self, know what they like, and realize they have nothing to prove,” said Tracy Nicole, who received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from FAMU and has created pieces for Hollywood elite like Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Keshia Knight-Pulliam, Terri J. Vaughn, Jasmine Guy and Mary Mary.
