FAMU-FSU College of Engineering doctoral student Olumide Abioye won first and second place, respectively, in the FAMU graduate research poster and 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competitions during the annual Graduate Student Appreciation Week held at FAMU last week.
Abioye is a student in the FAMU-FSU Engineering department of civil and environmental engineering. He received $850 in total prize money for his winnings. Abioye’s research focused on emergency evacuation planning, traffic flows, and aging populations.
Hosted by the FAMU School of Graduate Studies, the Appreciation Week included a meet and greet with the School’s dean, faculty, and staff; educational and professional development workshops; research and poster competitions, the 3 Minute Thesis competitions, a graduate recruitment fair and a celebration on the “Set.”
