A tradition now experienced by more than 1.9 million guests, the Florida Blue Florida Classic has brought Florida A&M University (FAMU) Rattlers and Bethune Cookman University Wildcats together to battle it out on the football field with a family-friendly approach.
On November 17, the 2018 Florida Blue Florida Classic football game attracted a record attendance of nearly 53,000 fans, the largest audience in more than six years.
Another historic moment was Larry Robinson, Ph.D., returning to one of the largest HBCU experiences as the 12th president of FAMU.
A week before the big game, family and friends joined the FAMU community for President Robinson’s inauguration.
Accompanied by his wife, Sharon Robinson, President Robinson enjoyed Florida Blue Florida Classic events, such as the Florida Classic Night of Distinction, the Florida Classic Consortium Kickoff Luncheon, Florida Blue Battle of the Bands, and Florida Blue Florida Classic now as the leader of his beloved College of Love and Charity.
President Robinson also delivered an inspiring speech to high school students attending the Orlando recruitment fair. University recruiters and deans met with prospective Rattlers at booths prior to an exciting program that featured the FAMU Connection. The president also joined hundreds of guests and distinguished honorees and scholarship recipients at the FAMU College of Law’s Legacy Awards and Scholarship Gala.
