Florida A&M University (FAMU) President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., will visit Macon and the Atlanta metro area on a three-day recruitment swing through Georgia Oct. 24-26.
Robinson, administrators, staff and students will hold an event for Macon area parents and high school students at the Douglas Theatre, 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
On Friday and Saturday, Robinson is expected to greet high school students and their parents at the Impact Event Center in the Atlanta suburban community of East Point, where FAMU alumna Deana Holiday Ingraham is mayor. The events are free and open to the public. High school juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to attend.
Along with speeches by Mayor Ingraham and President Robinson, attendees will see performances of the FAMU Connection troupe and be introduced to Mr. and Miss FAMU and members of the Royal Court, along with representatives from the Student Government Association.
The Atlanta area is home to many FAMU alumni including Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Converse CEO G. Scott Uzzell and moviemaker Will Packer. There are 550 Georgia students enrolled at FAMU, according to the FAMU Registrar’s Office.

“Georgia is rich in alumni and prospective Rattlers,” said William Hudson Jr., vice president of Student Affairs. “FAMU has been a place where Georgia students can excel, graduate and return home to make a difference. We want these students and their parents to get to know us. It will be a worthwhile investment.”
