Florida A&M University President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., launched his first recruitment tour stop for 2020 in Jacksonville on Thursday, Jan. 23. More than 200 students from the Jacksonville area were in attendance.
Students, parents, alumni, and supporters met the President at the Florida State College at Jacksonville South Campus Kent Campus at 6 p.m. Tour guests experienced one-on-one talks with FAMU recruiters, staff, and leadership; performances from the University’s touring company, “The FAMU Connection;” and the opportunity to hear from student leadership and the President about what makes FAMU the highest-ranking Public HBCU.
“It’s always a great opportunity to go to Duval County to recruit the best and brightest students. Our alumni chapter is very strong and we appreciate all their assistance to make FAMU a success,” said Vice President for Student Affairs William E. Hudson Jr., Ph.D.
There are currently 578 students from Jacksonville enrolled at FAMU.
