FAMU Establishes Partnership With Pathstream To Offer New Certificate Programs

January 28th, 2021 Andrew Skerritt News
FAMU Establishes Partnership With Pathstream To Offer New Certificate Programs

Florida A&M University (FAMU) recently established a partnership with Pathstream—an online digital skills provider—to offer four new certificate programs that will benefit students, faculty, staff and members of the community.

Participants who complete the programs will receive certificates in Tableau Data Analytics,  Asana Project Management, Salesforce Administrator Career, and Facebook Digital Marketing.

The hands-on certificate programs are designed to equip students with career-aligned digital skills to prepare them for their future job, promotion or entrepreneurship.

“We are very pleased to partner with Pathstream to offer these dynamic programs to our community,” said Phyllis Watson, director for FAMU’s Office of Continuing Education. “These offerings will provide impactful educational experiences that facilitate personal goal attainment in highly lucrative market-driven fields.”

Programs, such as data analytics and salesforce administration, are focused on high-demand careers and those with the potential for elevated job growth. Using the Pathstream learning platform, students are encouraged to practice their skills using essential software required for several career fields. The programs are also designed to adapt to various scheduling commitments—such as full-time employment—and accommodate participants seeking to change careers, enter the workforce or upgrade their knowledge and capabilities.

“We are thrilled to partner with Florida A&M University, our first HBCU partner, to deliver digital-skills career programs that will help learners seeking to advance in the knowledge economy,” said Eleanor Cooper, Pathstream’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “Students will be prepared not only for success in career-making roles but also to distinguish themselves in today’s competitive job market.”

Participants will also have the opportunity to practice their digital skills in online labs and manage projects based on realistic workplace scenarios, which are designed to simulate experiences they may encounter while on the job. Each certificate includes career navigation content and Pathstream will provide students with career services to assist them in securing a position once they finish instruction.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn a certificate co-branded by FAMU and the partnered technology company. Registration will begin in March and the programs will be offered throughout the year. Those interested in the programs may contact Watson for more information.

As detailed on its website, Pathstream, founded in 2018, “partners with leading technology companies to build branded digital skills career programs delivered through college and university partnerships.” The programs are available to anyone wanting to obtain digital skills most-often used in the modern workforce.
