Florida A&M University Sports Hall of Famer Albert Chester will be the featured guest on the “Not Your Average Hero” podcast premiering noon Thursday, February 18.
Chester, a NCAA Football Championship winner, joins College Hall of Fame historian and curator Jeremy Swick in the series in which he chats with pioneers of college football.
Chester played quarterback for FAMU from 1975 to 1979 under Coach Rudy Hubbard, who will be inducted into the College Hall of Fame later this year. He helped lead the first and only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) team to win an NCAA Division 1-AA College Football Championship.
Chester was a three-time MVP for the Rattlers in leading the team to a 33-3 record. He later played professionally in the Canadian Football League. The Jacksonville native was inducted into the FAMU Sports Hall of Fame in 1985. During the series, fans learn the unique stories of sport heroes and the impact their journey has had on the game and society as a whole. “Not Your Average Hero” is geared to inspire, educate, and entertain.
