Parking Lot Closures:
To facilitate mourners at the wake for Dr. Frederick Humphries, Sr., the parking lot behind Lee Hall will be closed on Friday. Employees are asked to use the lot at the Frederick S. Humphries Science Research Building parking lot on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd or the gravel parking lot at Osceola and MLK Blvd.
Beginning 8 a.m. Saturday, the L.S. Barley Lot, the Bragg Stadium/Howard Hall lot, and the south lot of the fieldhouse will be closed for the funeral service. Those attending the funeral service are allowed to use the following lots: The Parking Garage, Bragg Stadium parking lot, the Welcome Center lot, School of Business & Industry lots, the Gore Education Complex lot on Gamble Street, and the Charles Winterwood-Library lot.
The Venom Shuttle will ferry attendees to and from the funeral service.

FAMU is encouraging mourners to wear face coverings. Attendees are asked not to take photos of Dr. Humphries as he lies in state.
FAMU Al Lawson Center, and Bragg COVID-19 Test Sites to Close Saturday
Florida A&M University (FAMU) announced that the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center COVID-19 vaccination site and the Bragg Memorial Stadium COVID-19 testing site will be closed Saturday, July 10 to accommodate funeral services for former President Frederick S. Humphries, Sr., Ph.D. Both sites will reopen on Monday, July 12.
Black Archives Memorial Exhibit
The Meek-Eaton Black Archives has created a memorial exhibit to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Humphries. Using items from the Fred Humphries collection, the exhibit will highlight Humphries’ presidential tenure, memorabilia of the FAMU centennial celebration and the College of the Year celebration and other items.
The exhibit will be open to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit will remain up for public viewing for the duration of the summer, said Archivist Murrell Dawson, Ph.D., who curated the exhibition.
