FAMU ASSOCIATION OF BLACK JOURNALISTS LAUNCH SPEAKER SERIES
Curated experience aimed to empower emerging content creators
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida A&M University (FAMU) School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (SJGC) will host the inaugural FAMU Association of Black Journalists Speaker Series on Wednesday, November 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the SJGC Lecture Hall.
Wednesday’s fireside chat will feature prominent FAMU alum Brook England – a content creator, host and producer most known for her work with Black Entertainment Television (BET) and Viacom Digital Studios.
England began her professional career interning at Creative Control TV, which led to a role at BET as an assistant editor. She would eventually become a successful correspondent for BET Digital’s BET Breaks and also hosted exclusive content for the BET Awards, Hip Hop Awards and Soul Train Awards.
Simultaneously, she produced highly successful Viacom Digital Studios series such as I Went Viral, VIXEN, Rate The Bars and Body of Work. The Miami native has also produced branded content for AT&T, Toyota, Sprite and Coca-Cola.
England believes it is important for alumni to leave the door open and ladder down for emerging content creators at FAMU.
