Interim Provost Rodner Wright issued the following statement this afternoon:
On May 2, Professor LeRoy Pernell was named interim dean of the Florida A&M University College of Law. Pernell previously served as dean from 2008-2015.
On May 1, the following Florida A&M University faculty were also selected to serve as interim deans:
- Seth Ablordeppey, Ph.D., interim dean of the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Lady Dhyana Ziegler, Ph.D., DCJ, interim dean of the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication
- Patricia Green-Powell, Ph.D., interim dean of the College of Education
The former deans of the respective colleges and schools will retain their status as tenured professors.
This week, I will continue to meet with faculty as we review our academic programs.
Interim deans are also meeting with stakeholders and students to discuss next steps as the University works to ensure that all academic units are aligned with our strategic priorities.
