The Healthcare Management Degree Guide announced that Florida A&M University was named as one of the “Top 25 Health Information Management Degree Programs” in the nation.
FAMU’s Health Informatics and Information Management Program, which ranked third, was recognized in part for offering pre-professional and professional programs, where the former contains foundational science, humanities and communications courses and the latter consists primarily of laboratory and supervised clinical work. The Program is housed in the School of Allied Health Sciences.
All of the schools considered for top rankings are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). CAHIIM sets rigorous program requirements, but one of its biggest emphasis is on job-related training, in area, that which the Guide notes, FAMU excels in.
