“We are grateful to lawmakers who worked extremely hard on FAMU’s behalf and gave our Legislative Budget Requests serious consideration. Certainly, we are disappointed that we did not receive funds for our Center for Access and Student Success (CASS) Building project. The CASS facility is specifically designed to dramatically improve essential services needed by our students to succeed. However, we appreciate the funds that we did receive and will use them to support key initiatives contained in our strategic plan, “FAMU Rising,” most notably performance-based funding metrics. We must also recognize the untiring efforts of our alumni and friends who joined us in this year’s efforts to convey the importance of supporting this great institution.”
