FAMU AVP named Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at North Carolina Central University
Angela Alvarado Coleman, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Florida A&M University, has been named vice chancellor for student affairs at North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C.
In her new role, Coleman will provide strategic and visionary direction for the Division of Student Affairs. She will oversee offices and departments including Residential Life, Student Health and Counseling, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Student Disabilities Services, Career Services, Spiritual Development and Dialogue, Campus Recreation, Student Union/ Student Engagement and Leadership, Men’s Achievement and Centennial Scholars, the Women’s Center and Student Life Assessment.
FAMU administrator named dean of The College at WSSU
After a national search, Darryl Scriven, chair of the Department of Visual Arts, Humanities and Theatre and an associate professor of philosophy at Florida A&M University, has been named the dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, Business and Education at Winston-Salem State University. His appointment is effective July 1.
Since 2014, he has served as chair and associate professor of philosophy at FAMU, where he has led a multidisciplinary department with four major programs, five minors and 25 faculty members.
