The Florida A&M University Developmental Research School (FAMU DRS) honored its baseball, softball and track & field seniors during a ceremony on Thursday afternoon at the FAMU DRS Baseball Field.
FAMU President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., FAMU DRS Superintendent Michael Johnson and FAMU DRS Principal Pink Hightower, Ph.D., recognized 10 student-athletes during the late afternoon ceremony.
“I wish you every success in your future endeavors and remember that Tallahassee and the FAMU DRS will always be home,” said Robinson. “As we are fond of saying, ‘Once a Rattler, always a Rattler!’”
Track & field head coach Willie Williams, along with assistant coach Anthony Thompson, honored Kaden Roberts, Tyler Griffin, De’Jaunte Timothy and Theron Jackson, along with sharing their athletic accolades.
Baseball head coach Sylvester Peck Sr., with assistant coaches, Sylvester Peck Jr., Reginald Howard, David McRoy, recognized seniors Zevin Coltson and Aziz Taverneir.
Softball head coach Kay Wallace, with her assistant coach Charles Gardner, honored four players, Vaniah Cunningham, Kayla Jackson, Chaela Green and Jamicha Williams.
Sylvester Peck Sr. said the event had previously been scheduled last week but rain forced the postponement.
Thursday’s festivities concluded with the baseball team, with the assistance of Robinson and Hightower, performing pregame routines.
