The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host four workshops for entrepreneurs in the coming weeks. The SBDC at FAMU works with existing and startup small businesses to help them grow and compete in today’s global economy. These workshops are designed to assist entrepreneurs, new and seasoned, in the growth and development of their skills as business managers.
• How to Write a Business Plan
August 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the SBDC in Innovation Park
This intensive, hands-on workshop, instructs participants on the purpose, structure and content of a business plan. The course will be presented by C. Julian Douglas, the owner of C. Julian Douglas & Associates, LLC, a business management consultancy.

• Financing Your New Business
August 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the SBDC in Innovation Park
This course is designed to explore the avenues that are available to entrepreneurs who need financing to start a new business. It will be led by Aundrá McGlockton, Sr., a certified business analyst with the SBDC.
It’s “A New Season for Agricultural Research” at Florida A&M University! The College of Agriculture and Food Sciences will host a Research Forum on Tuesday, March 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at FAMU’s Perry-Paige Auditorium. Come hear about FAMU’s first-ever gene cloning of the muscadine grape. Learn how plants can protect vegetables from insect pests, and discover how organic matter can improve our drinking water.
